My favorite jeans

One of the simple pleasures of living in NYC is all of the possible rooftops to explore. Of course sometimes that means finding clever ways of sneaking into high-rise condos and various warehouses. But it's worth it to explore different perspectives of the city. However, these photos were just taken on my apartments rooftop. Nothing too exciting. But I will say that I love my rooftop and being able to watch the M run by.

In this photo set, I'm wearing the kind of outfit that you would if you were to do some urban exploring. I absolutely love these acid wash jeans that I found in a thrift shop here in Bushwick. Along with it is a sweater I got a few years and a kids sized army jacket. (Sometimes I'll shop in the kids section because I am that small). Dr. Martens are also almost always the shoe of choice whenever doing long walks.

Roses and Lace

Yet another almost entirely thrifted outfit of mine (everything except the bag and hat). Since moving to NYC, I have found the best inexpensive treasures at thrift shops. Seriously, there are so many options and they offer a variety of clothing that can fit any style. This amazing velvet rose printed skirt is Betsey Johnson and cost under thirty dollars. I absolutely love this skirt and get complimented EVERY time I wear it out. I paired it with this black laced leotard that I got for, wait for it....one dollar. One single dollar. Amazing, right? It fits perfectly. It's actually the first leotard I have ever bought, believe it or not. I'm not really a fan of leotards or one pieces, but this one caught my eye. And I can't pass up a deal like that. To me, this outfit is perfect for both day and night. And I feel it can be worn all year round. And as always, a leather jacket can top the look.

Geometric Daze

This is what my typical look is, especially if I have a long day ahead of me. I love these shorts I got from a shop on St. Marks in Manhattan. They are so perfect. After I got them, I could not stop wearing them. Of course, I am always wearing my leather jacket and platform boots. Since it was pretty windy that day, I decided to use a shaw of mine as a scarf. Gave a look of more layers and really helped bring everything together.

Autumn Leaves

Autumn is slowly fading into winter. The short time that the fall season is here, I take every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. To me and many others, it's the perfect season. The air turns crisp, the temperature is comfortable, and there seems to be a more carefree feeling in the air. Growing up in Florida, I didn't really get to experience a "true" autumn. The weather would become a little chillier, but no leaves would turn and the Florida sun would still outshine any chance of overcast. It never truly felt festive. That's why my first year here in New York, I made sure to embrace the fall season. My boyfriend and I decided to take a day trip to Sleepy Hallow, just an hour outside of the city, to take these photos. We explored the historic cemetery and enjoyed the nature surrounding it.
