Flowers and Frills

I am so ready for spring! Even though it is just now starting to get cold in NYC, I am preparing my wardrobe for spring season. I don't really enjoy wearing colors, but when I do, I chose to go for the darker shades. In this case, I chose a dark emerald suede skirt that I picked up from Zara.  I paired it this top I found at Top Shop. I love the pink detailed flowers and frill on the collar. It reminds me of Victorian fashions. Considering the busy detail of the top, I chose not to wear any jewelry aside from a few rings. I also decided to keep the shoes simple and wear neutral toned tights with the skirt.

These photos were taken quite a few months ago. My boyfriend's sister came into town and was staying at this amazing hotel right in midtown. The view was incredible. I thought, what better opportunity than to take photos of an outfit? I decided to wear something with a glamorous and sexy feel, while maintaining an edge. I absolutely love mesh so I paired my mesh skirt with my dress that has a mesh back (sadly I did not get a photo with the back exposed). Once again, most of my outfit is made up of thrifted garments excluding the harness made by Deandri and the jacket, which is from Romwe.

This marble coffee table blew my mind. Something I plan to have in my future apartment.

I meant to post these a while back, but life got in the way so I just recently was able to retouch them. These were taken at Sleepy Hallow cemetery. This white lace dress has to be one of my favorites and I regret not wearing it as often as I'd like to. I found it at a thrift shop in Atlanta about a year ago. It fits perfectly! And not only that, but is super comfortable and very warm. Making it the perfect winter dress. The socks are from Urban Outfitters. As much as I try to avoid shopping at places like UO, I will say that they have the best selection of socks. My boots are from another thrift shop. I love how they have a Victorian era feel to them. In fact, I would say this whole outfit is inspired by that era.

This skirt is so fun to wear. I wanted to have a chance to wear it out before it gets too cold. I think it goes best paired with this white bustier lace top I found in a thrift store a while back. This outfit is very romantic with a sultry vibe. In order to not make it too sexy, I sported my favorite leather black jacket. Sometimes I wear this jacket over dressy outfits in order to toughen up my image. I feel that I can't allow myself to look to dainty. It's just not me. The shoes also give off a bold look with the chunky heels and big silver buckles.
